This website, Milly Arcana, is a showcase for both my work and my 'interests'. The new pieces are all made by me, one by one. The secondhand/vintage pieces, including clothing and objects, are selected by me according to a particular question/principle — is this a treasure? 

I live and work in Brunswick on unceded Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung country. I draw, write, sometimes paint (not particularly well), sew, and make collage/papier-mâché works. From late 2005 to early 2018, I ran a boutique called Milly Sleeping in Carlton with my mum, Janette Muddle (who remains an important presence and influence). During this time, the name Milly became inseparable from me/my role . . . The business activities have altered and evolved but Milly is forever.

Speaking of . . . Many, many times during the past 20+ years as I've pursued creative projects, I have thought — I should do something else. But I've never been able to steer myself away. I always return to the idea of making something lovely or funny. I always return to colours, textiles, flowers, treasures. It is a pleasure to converse and get to know people via these things, so please feel free to be in touch.
