Solid little hinged box with ball feet and soldered handle.

Silver plated with beautiful engraving to lid and sides.

6.2cm X 6.2cm X 2.8cm (height, not including handle).

So interesting … the marking on the base says:
‘The Van Bergh S. P. Co (S. P. = silver plate)
Quadruple plate
Made in U. S A.
Rochester N. Y.
109’ (being the catalogue number)

… Likely made in the early 20th century before the company incorporated in 1925/6.

Condition is good. I have not attempted to clean it up to bring back any silver shine - it is marked and tarnished but quite lovely.
