Light crisp vintage jacket made from the best blue and blue (and black) check. It’s a Thai style blazer that can be worn open or - how I think I like it best - with the collar turned up and the lapels in/overlapping. Wide sleeves. No buttoning. I had started taking this jacket apart, with the view to using the fabric for something else. Before I got too far, I stopped, probably because I was seeing that it was really well made - and because I was wondering - what is going to be better than this jacket ..? Because it’s a fine silk, it can be pinned across the body and tucked in.

Made in Thailand for Peuan Thai Studio in Canberra

Marked size S, which is probably a men’s S

Generous/flexible … M/L/XL

Thai silk 100%

Cool hand wash, line dry, warm iron - although I regretted ironing it - it looked softer unironed

Condition is excellent

Measurements (takes across the front, lying flat):
Shoulders: 50cm
Chest: 57cm
Mid: 55cm
Hip/hem: 55cm
Upper arm: 21cm
Overall length: 70cm

I suppose I hesitated a little around this piece because I wasn’t sure how you’d wear it … Ultimately - I like it with the pale denim, and also as part of a mix/match outfit (big pants or long skirt and runners) … As I was sewing it back together, I started imagining it with some unusual accessories, hence the improvised diamente button pin and collage brocade patch.
